As a program within a retirement community, it provides meaning and community connection, and health exercise. It is common for centurions to spend time in the garden each day.

Plant a variety of fruits and vegetables to grow your own food, save money, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Gardening also provides gentle exercise while teaching planning and planting skill.

Making Our Own Fertilizer
Create natural, homemade fertilizer to help plants grow healthier, stronger, and larger. Using composted organic materials not only nourishes the soil but also supports sustainable gardening practices and reduces waste.

The Angels of Hive Community
Gardening wouldn’t be complete without the help of our “angels” of Hive Community — Sky and Viana — who guide, prepare, and plant alongside residents. Their dedication ensures a productive, healthy, and joyful gardening experience, making every moment fun while fostering a sense of belonging in our Hive Community garden.

Guided Gardening with Our CEO
Residents have the opportunity to garden alongside Mr. Tom Coghill, CEO of Hive Community, who provides hands-on instruction and guidance. He helps participants plan, plant, and align their gardens, sharing expertise to ensure a productive, healthy, and well-organized growing space.
