And the Text Itself Gives It Away
The Bible is often treated as a direct historical record — a collection of eyewitness testimonies written by people who “were there.” It isn’t. The Bible is a layered narrative — edited, expanded, reinterpreted, and rewritten over centuries. Easy to prove as the subtext at the bottom of the page, explains that.
The Modern bible was interpreted from many version as they were all hand copied down through the centuries including small changes or mistakes or interpretations made during hand copying that originated from thousands of ancient manuscripts and fragments of the Bible have been discovered, include over 5,800 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament, around 10,000 Latin manuscripts, and over 9,300 in other languages such as Syriac, Coptic, and Armenian. None are the same. So what you read is a best guess. That fact is clear as the authors put a summary of the decide interpretation in the note below the main writing with small number that lead you to a painful truth that this is a very complex story, a work of fiction built up with layers over centuries.
Note from Tom Coghill
I was a Christian for decades, reading the bible daily, praying and fasting to get closer to God. I even had a vision when i was converted. But, reading the subtext at the bottom of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John shattered my faith within hours. And like a child discovering Santa is not real, going back to believing is impossible. It was a painful period, with the questions of what is my purpose, where did we come from, what is right and wrong, what happens after death, haunting my thoughts and dreams. The Hive Community concept was birthed out of my frustration and emptiness, leading to the eventual conclusion that purpose is what I choose, death is a eternal sleep, and right and wrong was written in my heart by my upbringing. Ands so, building the Hive Community became my purpose, and service to the greater good and the community my measure of character, and willingness to sacrifice. It is freedom, that empowers as I create my fate. Destiny is an blank page. I am not a sinner needing saving, just a human learning from making mistakes. And death, just my final moment of giving.
Anonymous Authors, Not Named Witnesses
Start with a simple fact that surprises many believers:
The original biblical texts do not name their authors.
The Gospels were not signed.
They were not dated.
They were not written in the lifetimes of Jesus’s closest followers.
The names Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were assigned decades later by church tradition — not by the texts themselves.
Modern scholarship agrees:
- The Gospels were written 40–70+ years after the events they describe
- They were composed in educated Greek, not the Aramaic spoken by Galilean fishermen
- They rely on earlier written and oral sources, not firsthand memory
That’s not eyewitness testimony.
That’s storytelling built on tradition.
The Gospels Edit Each Other
Eyewitnesses disagree naturally — but they don’t copy-paste.
Large sections of Matthew and Luke are word-for-word identical to Mark. This tells us something crucial: later authors were editing earlier texts, not independently reporting events, rewriting and reshaping earlier material to fit new theological goals.
That’s how stories evolve.
The opposite of how court testimony works to establish truth.
Contradictions Aren’t Accidents — They’re Clues
The new testimony cannot be an eyewitness record as the authors of the even wrote the story anonymously, 40, 60, 80 and 120 years after the supposed crucifixion date.
Instead, of facts we get:
- Different genealogies for Jesus
- Different resurrection timelines
- Different last words on the cross
- Different accounts of who found the tomb, when, and what happen.
Each author was was adding to punch up the impact to the writing” That’s storytelling with purpose — not neutral reporting. The only thing that remains constant is the theme.
The authors make it clear, it is a story.
Here’s where the Bible quietly admits what it is.
Some of its most famous passages, the text about the resurrection, did not exist in the earliest manuscripts. In the original text Jesus died, end of story.
- The long ending of Mark (Mark 16:9–20) was additions by several authors over many centuries.
An eyewitness account does not need updates over hundred of years by multiple anonymous authors.
Authority Was Being Built
The Bible isn’t just telling stories — it’s creating authority. This authority was used for money and control.
Many letters attributed to apostles were written after their deaths, in their names, to settle debates that didn’t exist during their lifetimes.
The Bible was shaped to stabilize belief, not preserve raw history.
The Bible is Oral Tradition, Not Recorded History
For decades, these stories lived only in memory and speech.
Oral traditions change.
They simplify.
They dramatize.
They absorb symbolism.
Miracles grow.
Speeches lengthen.
Characters sharpen into archetypes.
By the time they were written down, the stories had already passed through multiple generations of retelling.
That’s how myths form — humans tell stories to make sense of chaos.
Humans are uncomfortable with the unknown, the Bible provides simple answers to unknown, why are we here, where did I come from, what happens when we die, why does the earth exist …. GOD did it. A faith in an all-powerful God provides meaning and order.
Why This Doesn’t Make the Bible “Useless”
Calling the Bible a story is not an insult.
Stories shape civilizations.
Stories transmit values.
Stories explain identity.
But stories are not transcripts. The Bible is a human attempt to understand existence, suffering, power, and hope — rewritten as circumstances changed. That doesn’t make it divine. And it doesn’t make it worthless. It makes it human.
There are no miracles, God never regrows a limb, to proved existence. So that makes modern church a magic show and a scam to get you hard earned money. The Hive promotes reality, scientific reasoning and replicable proof. For now, I got to stop writing and plant some carrots in the community garden, I believe they will grow.
So before meals, I give thanks to the farmer and the plant that is giving it life for me to live. I have faith the the Hive Community that it will last for eons and become a global force for good.
I see this amazing future and believe goodness into existence. Bending the universe to birth the most powerful empire in History. The Hive Empire. With every breath, till my last I build this vision.
Any claims of God, Jesus or the supernatural require proof with verifiable evidence, pointing to the planet earth and saying how did this get here is not proof, personal believe is not proof. I no longer have an invisible friend. I want a real one, so buy a ticket and join us.
PS. We are not alone in the universe of trillion of star and planets. The unknown is stranger than we think. And we are about to birth a digital God.
